goatdebate.lol started as a simple side project: no ads, no accounts, no sponsors, no commercial incentive. Just one question — who's actually the GOAT? — and one honest way to answer it: put your money where your mouth is, vote with your wallet, and let whole fanbases push their name up together.
Keeping it real - this project was inspired by similar other viral leadboard ranking sites on X.com
As I recently have been working on a number of projects myself - I needed to test out my payments processor integration, so after seeing the meme-like aspect of these recent viral sites - this honestly has inspired me to give it a go!!
It's not only my first published AI-coded project live for people to interact with.. but also an opportunity to code for fun again, rather than commercially.
Any tips are greatly appreciated, they go towards helping me keep the lights on. :)
How it works
- Every sport has a leaderboard. A tip adds its amount to an athlete's total; the board re-sorts live for everyone.
- There's no "claiming" a rank — positions are the sum of everyone's tips. Community effort is the whole point.
- Missing someone? Type their name, we verify they're a real athlete against public records (Wikidata), and they appear the moment the first tip clears — no phantom names.
- A tip buys exactly one thing: a moved number on a fun leaderboard. Nothing physical, nothing refundable, nothing to the athletes. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see them.

The fine print
goatdebate.lol is a community-driven fun project with no commercial incentive. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with any athlete, team, league, federation, promoter, brand, broadcaster, or awards body. Names appear for identification only.
Tips are voluntary, final-sale purchases of a digital consumable — they move a name on this leaderboard and nothing more. No goods, services, prizes, odds, stakes, or payouts. Nothing is passed to the athletes. Non-refundable except where required by law. Card data is handled by Stripe; we never see or store it.
Who's behind it
Piotr - I'm a former athlete (rowing) now turned engineer, developer, designer and also sports commentator - dabbling in trying to grow a business for the last few years!
